Days 2 and 3

Aymara Lodge – Your Home Away from Home

You’ll be staying at the charming and cozy Aymara Lodge, where days 2 and 3 promise an immersion in the Pantanal habitat with many photo and birding opportunities. Parrots, Macaws, and Howler Monkeys are just some of the possible encounters, while you explore on foot, canoes, and open safari vehicles.

Day 4

Navigating the Pantanal Waters: A Journey to the Jaguar Kingdom

We drive all the way to the end of the Transpantaneira highway and switch to the boat safari, exploring the labyrinth of waterways formed by the many rivers of this area. Here you have the very best chances of finding the mighty Jaguar, living freely in its preserved natural habitat, as well as plenty of other wildlife.

Day 5

The Quest for Jaguars: A Wildlife Encounter Like No Other

Today you will experience the thrill of tracking the elusive Jaguar, aboard a safe and comfortable speed boat specially designed for these expeditions. Along with the big cats, other wildlife call this land home, such as Giant Otters, Capybaras, and the Pantanal Caiman. You will have an experience like no other, be you a wildlife photographer, a birder that enjoys all wildlife, or someone passionate for the wonders of nature!

Day 6

From Porto Jofre Back to Cuiabá: A Bittersweet Farewell

Today we have a long drive back on the Transpantaneira, with chances of finding even more wildlife as we return to Cuiabá. In the luggage lots of great photos, stories, and memories from a trip of a lifetime.

The Experience

A transformative journey in a major biodiversity hotspot, with untamed landscapes, abundant wildlife, experienced guides, great food, comfortable lodging, and warm people!

Birdwatching

The largest wetland in the World, the Pantanal is one of the last major untouched nature reserves on the face of the earth.

The largest wetland in the World, the Pantanal is one of the last major untouched nature reserves on the face of the earth. The wildlife is amazingly abundant here, and its seasonally flooded plains attract immense quantities of birds and caimans, and is also one of the most mammal rich areas of South America.

A birding trip that combines the abundant and diverse avifauna of the Pantanal with rare and range-restricted Cerrado species at Chapada dos Guimarães National Park.

Chapada dos Guimarães National Park sits atop the Brazilian Central Plateau, on a very scenic area comprised by cerrado scrubland bordered by huge sandstone cliffs and lush gallery forest.

Emas National Park is one of the largest protected areas of campo-cerrado habitat, which comprises a vast mosaic of open savannas and scrublands.

The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is an avian paradise that has everything that makes Neotropical rainforest birding exciting: mixed-species flocks moving fast through the canopy and understory.

Located in the heart of a vast mountain range, Itatiaia National Park is the first Brazilian national park and one of the most famous birding spots in the Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest.

Wildlife Safari

Emas National Park is one of the largest protected areas of campo-cerrado habitat, which comprises a vast mosaic of open savannas and scrublands.

The largest wetland in the World, the Pantanal is one of the last major untouched nature reserves on the face of the earth, and a land of superlatives.

There is nothing like the Amazon on planet earth. It is the largest tract of continuous forest on the planet, covering nearly half of Brazil and a good portion of adjacent countries.

Few places on Earth still hold the magic aura found at Mamirauá Reserve. Brazil’s first “Sustainable Development Reserve”, Mamirauá is a huge reserve along the upper Amazon (Solimões) river.

This expedition takes place at the Parnaiba Headwaters National Park, a region of a particular scenic beauty where the vegetation is comprised by Cerrado scrublands and gallery forest.

Extensions

There is no other city in the world such as Rio de Janeiro. Despite being the second largest city in Brazil, Rio has a nice and relaxed atmosphere, which is perhaps the reason it is famous as the Wonderful City.

Iguassu Falls can be described as the largest waterfall system in the World. But this is a very simplistic explanation. These falls are way beyond that, and way beyond what words can describe.
